Psalms #42 Poem by Rongyi Rongybaba

Psalms #42

Rating: 5.0

Psalm 42 is one of the most favorite Biblical verse of all times. It is translated for many languages and have as many tunes too. Hungarians have a bouquet of Psalms, that they can sing in the tune for their beloved folk songs. The #42 is fits for the tune of the Tavaszi szel, The spring zephyrs. The tune can be known from the movie English Patient, it was the opening song. I translated the psalm back for English to fit the tune.

Psalms #42

As the deer pants for the water after a hot dry sun

My soul look for a support what comes with my God’s love.

I’m eager to see My Lord, my heart burns with desire

I would like to know Him better, I wish to be tighter.

I’m in tears all day and night, many asking from me

Where is that God whom you were calling, when you are in this big need?

My heart praising happy and joyful in the House of My God

Where I am with my friends in the present of Mighty High

Why is that I am so sorrow, why is my heart broken?

When I know that I will see Him one day up in Heaven.

But when waves high, maelstroms swirling, my heart filled up with fear

I can not feel Him around, I fear He just left me.

Many tells me with mockery, many ridicule me

Where is that God whom you worship, why is he not here helping?

But I do not fail in my love, I wont give up my hopes

He who made me He will save me, He will give me white robes.

Wait for Lord God, and you will harvest everlasting wisdom

Holy Spirit will guide you up in the Heavenly Kingdom
