Josh Alfred (02/27/89)
Words to allure from the distance
The distance between us.
She is silent with persistence,
As like a child speaks to moon.
Her love is so resistant.
She makes no closer move.
Ropes like words won't wrap,
Around her temperate heart.
My self-image won't improve
In her sight of my gallanting art.
Fuse of choice will not be lit,
There is no shared spark.
If all my words won't flatter,
And all my success won't do,
If my appearance doesn't charm
And she doesn't play, my bill and coo
I will admit my failing appeal,
Just passed her ghost right through.
This potential connection, withdrawn,
Just one, my charge could not subdue.
