Propensity Poem by Rebekah Gamble

Propensity

We wear the mask;
we hide the truth.
We wear the mask!
We dance skin to skin,
flesh to flesh,
blood and heart beating in rhythm,
our faces turned away.
Telling all in our limbs,
but on our faces,
we wear the mask!
Both may know,
and perhaps admit,
but forbidden is the truth,
and what is knowledge
without action?
We wear the mask!
We may never come again,
yet we insist
on wearing the mask!
