Promise Poem by Erin Taylor

Promise

Promise me love's countless roads
won't lead you astray
Promise me you'll find my light
even on rainy days
Promise me that my heart's strings you will not cut in vain
but pluck them 'til my heart sings
a melody only heard
in your domain

Promise me time's ongoing clock
shall never rewind our past
Promise me your love will always tick-tock
even when beauty doesn't last
Promise me you'll stop the rain
from staining my fragile walls
Promise me you'll ease the pain
'cause when the rain doesn't fall
the warriors still crumble my 'concrete' walls

A lot of promises I've given you
but I have promises to keep too
I Promise I'll be the second pair of hands
that wipe away despair
I Promise that I will hold you dear
even when no other souls are near
I Promise to share a piece of my light
if it means to catch a beautiful sight
of that gorgeous smile that destroys my might
and makes my heart shine ever so bright

These things I'll always Promise you
and my list for sure isn't through
but one last Promise I'll give to you
is no matter what, I'll always love you
but to make my confession infinitely true
all you simply have to do is
Promise.

Love has countless roads and promising before to get light of smile is wonderful really. Nicely drafted.
