Promise Poem by Joanna Pavlides

Promise

I made a promise not to
but I miss you again
the evenings go past
knowing the emptiness will last
until I see you again

The hunger's awaken
after so many months
the hurtful feeling
which I want not to go
I want it to stay

So I can bathe
in endless lust
and live a dream
that had already passed
hang on to a lie
just to fill the gap

you left so fast
