Profit Or People? Poem by Terence George Craddock

Profit Or People?

Rating: 5.0

which sector of society
has the most compassion
leads social crusades...

to protect the poor
the disadvantaged
the broken hearted?

rich or poor?

the so-called
'least advantaged'
people taking the lead

are trying
to protect
all of us!

who has abilities
charisma experience
knowledge enough is

ethically
intellectually
morally

trying
to protect
individuals

indifferent society
from social political
environmental

threats inflicting
contemporary
apathetic society?

who is
consciously
more aware,

more enlightened,
more compassionate;
beware elite richest,

greediest,
most powerful
apex of society,

can rarely
see beyond bean
counter reports;

cannot resist
allure of mammon
maximum profits,

despite evident havoc,
humanitarian crises,
environmental disasters

such
policies
engender;

who will help
you in crisis this
your hour of need?

who will
you look to
reach out

a hand to
instinctively
know

will
emergency
help?

societies
humanities
so-called

'least advantaged'

people
are taking
the lead!
