Probability… Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Probability…

Two pretentious hands shuffling cards in place
Dealing hopes for a perfect day with dexterity
Discretely viewed by a man with a subdued face
Warily contemplating the possibility of prosperity

Dreams swirl within the scope of opportunity
Make plans in advance for a future that astonishes
Scenarios are locked out that lead to insecurity
As his cards are revealed… elation diminishes

Observing long sought joy in the face of another
Drowning in a sea of uncertainty…dealing with reality
Standing with the weakened knees of a philosopher
Seeking the probability of buoyancy…theoretically
