Prisoner Poem by Heather Schroer

Prisoner

I am a prisoner, in my own home.
I was born in a world of hate, someone else's throne.
Someone else is in charge of my life.

I make no decisions of my own.
I have no right of say.
I can have no favorites.

I am a prisoner, in my house-
Storred and kept away, hidden, like a mouse.
Someone else is in charge of my life.

I must act 'proper.'
I must be a lady.
'Remember who you represent! '

I am a prisoner, in my own home.
Born in a world of hate, someone else's throne.
Someone else is in charge of My life.
