Prison Wall Graffiti Poem by Anton Nino Diego Baena

Prison Wall Graffiti

Prison Wall Graffiti

'Since I was thrown inside
the earth has orbited the sun ten times'
-Nazim Hikmet

The distance between
your lips and my nicotine
kiss are telephone wires
and space sattelites

Boisterous laughter
of prison guards and iron bars
taunt the heart
not to go any further
than these

written verses

In deep slumber
my tongue searches your snake-
like tongue twisted-twin
of mangrove brances

Within my prison cell
eternity manifests itself
as wrinkles and crumpled pices of paper
useless graffiti-unending

love letters
