Princess Fake Poem by Mohamedkhadar Yussuf

Princess Fake

Days of endless telephone conversation,
Nights of endless intimate chatting,
Their love story seemed untouchable and bonded.
Him giving his best and her giving her best, they assured
Each other that nothing, but death can do them apart.
Affections shared in equal measure, their story made its
Way to the public with envy from foes.

Both families now aware of this potential couple,
Their affair was all serene and hopeful.
Then enter the frame her envious girlfriends
Who never liked their relation.
She was fed with lies about him,
She was fed with rumours about him,
She was fed with all sorts of gossips about him and his family.

Angry and ashamed of all these stories, she tried to call it quits
With no much evidence, with no any consultation.
The love turned to hatred, his calls not picked,
His texts not replied, his memories deleted,
His story folded and tossed into the dustbin.
Nervous and shaken, he tried to see and know
What befall his sweet princess only to be turned
Away, only to be told to call it quits!
