Primal Instinct...
Primal Instinct
Wrapping ourselves in rainbows
trying to make life bearable
trying to move forward.
Can awaken the monster within,
the awareness of our surroundings
avoid the darkness.
A chasm of chaos coming undone
rainbows are an illusion
reflecting light
a guidance out of the darkness
leads us to the escape door.
Sometimes partners work their way
into our lives without us even
realizing that we need them
it's written into our genes
into our souls
our primal instinct beckons
us to take the desire of life
and enhance it, mold it into
what we want out of life.
Not just to survive
but to live.
Oh yes! ! ! You are indeed the poetess I knew you were, in between the colors of the rainbow you have dared to cast your eyes and you have indeed found the desire of life and you have and will continue to enhance it! I agree with Judith, this ranks as one of your best! !
Lovely poem. Life's problems so often do not go away we just have to find some way to block their effects with our rainbows even if it is an illusion. A very clear and practical message delivered so poetically. Thanks for sharing.
