Pride Poem by breanna givens

Pride

You can beat me, strip me of all things, make me look outside the gender and even out thee human race,
You can take me from the enjoyment life brings and even put bruises on my loving face,
But you could never beat my determination or take me off life’s ride; you can’t strike my boldness or damage my pride,

You may not like my face but my expression still stands, maybe cover up my mouth but I’ll just speak with my hands,
Abuse the tears out my eyes but my spirit never falls, if being independent is rebellious then I'm breaking all the laws,
Because you can’t stab my confidence and loyalty is too precious to hide, you can’t strike my boldness or damage my pride,

No use for friends, too hard to make and easy to lose, only I can be there for me when life ends no mean to be rude,
My past has its faults but my future is in the making, success is what I want and I’m reaching for the taking,
And I will get it because you are no competition, no fear of mine; you’re simply an insect a waist of my time,
You can hit me and hurt me but injuries will subside, but you can’t strike my boldness or damage my pride! !
