Pretend Poem by dipa bhattacharyya

Pretend

sometimes I miss you,

and most of the time pretend I did not!

sometimes I care for you and most of the time

pretend to be careless about you.

your happiest smile

your inimitable style,

a sense of humor that suits only you-

an inexorable control on someone's mind body or soul.

how a childish gaze becomes deep and hard to escape

how fragile can someone make you and you brake.

I just pretend I never noticed any of those-

I just pretend - standing forever at your door

you smiled at me and the time froze.
