Pressed Flower Poem by DiAnne Douglass

Pressed Flower

Rating: 5.0

Singular beauty
Captured in a moment
Fleeting, fading, freshness dying
Flowers never last
An hour more is all I ask
So please keep your beauty
If just for a moment longer

You were picked
Plucked with loving care
Rose, daisy, lily, lilac
Geraniums and more
Sweet smelling and bright colors
Bringing smiles to our lips
Now it's time to dry them
Press them flat between the pages
Of a much beloved book

Faded flower
Still carries a lingering scent
Of sweetness
Fragrant though no longer fresh
Pressed flower
Just wait an hour more
Then I will present you
To my most beloved
My sweet
In an expression of
My sweetest love
