President Barack Obama's Inauguration Poem by Jim Norausky

President Barack Obama's Inauguration

Rating: 5.0

President Obama takes his constitutional oath

hundreds of thousands of witnesses shout approval

on the national mall

and pray for his success to benefit humanity.

While in the hopeful eyes of millions across the land

President Lincoln's arms at his Memorial open wider

hands no longer holding his nation's stone chair tightly

and silently waiting for segregation to truly end.
