Predators Poem by Pradip Chattopadhyay

Predators

Rating: 5.0

The birds visiting me
Now I don't feed.

Blame it on my cats' greed!

Doel, bulbul, myna
All having fallen prey to
These snoopy lurky hyena!

These petty filthy abductors
Prowling pouncing predators
Have everything that takes
To break my feathered friends' necks!

Now I know it does them no good
Birds coming in lure of my food
And be bitten and eaten!

I no more feed
The cats' greed.

Beautiful poem on predators.....Birds come for food, while cat too come for its food. Loved the way you presented it.

Luckily, there are not many cats around here, so my yard is filled with birds all day long. They eat and bathe throughout the day, then sit on my garden bench. It's fun to watch them feel so comfortable. How dreary the day would be without the birds.
