Prayer Of A Lonesome Heart Poem by Soumita Sarkar

Prayer Of A Lonesome Heart

Distance when separates a pair
With no place for reason to share
The warmth of the deep lost love
Spread its arms all night and day

Call it strange devotion or an inclination
Those words can never come again
Those were meant to amuse one special
By the sword of love who were once slain

Dismal glowing loneliness in passion
Silently sings many unheard songs
To know that touches and glances are far
Still they live alone the path with few frowns

When I pass a bird sitting single
Harbour a wish to see two together
A lonesome heart can stand faithfully
To pray – no lover stays far from the other.

Language of love has no caste of its own
No country, no colour, no body or faith
Beast and human alike can give and take
It’s universal with no boundary till date
