Prayer Flags Poem by Kikee Doma Bhutia

Prayer Flags

Prayer Flags (Lung Ta)
The colors of life shining so bright
Singing with the wind, in every trees and cliffs and mountain tops
Prayer flags, for as long as every human will live
It maybe is the symbol of people still holding onto hopes and faith
Even in happiness and in sickness
It blows within the carcasses of make believe.
The five elements,
Sky, air, fire, water and earth
All in same sync flown in blue, white, red, green and yellow.
It blows high, day and night, endless tireless times without rest, without break
To purify the wind and air and surrounding people survived
Just as life moves on,
The present became past and past turns into memory,
The future does shows in disguise of whats happening,
The old life thus turns new and thats what people call change and strives for
People change the prayer flags every years to welcome life's change
Yes, all these are true,
True to its core, the blessings and faith and compassion which flew
Every where with the colors above our heads
And so for me Prayer flags is what love is
The love displayed out in the strange lands
To feel at home, to be loved, to be accepted
To turns my life's past behind and welcoming the new one with new hopes.
Yes, it will be hanging on top of my head in the attic somewhere
And it will reminds me of the unfaltering love
The respect I got, and so many promises to keep! ! ! !
