Prayer Against Mental Illness Poem by Enoch O. Akanji

Prayer Against Mental Illness

• I thank You, Lord God, for Your past healing over me and the
preservation of my body. I commit my brain unto You, my Father.
The Lord God is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger, and
great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and all the time, the Lord
God is good. His tender mercies are over all His works. You know
the functionality of my brain, and I pray my brain will function the
way You designed it to function, in the name of Jesus.
• Grant me, O Lord my God, with Your peace that is beyond all
understanding and the grace to know You will heal me and bless me
with the wealth of health, in the name of Jesus.
• Grant me the grace to focus on You and You alone. Grant me the
grace to know that my help can only come from You in all the
situations that I find myself in. Cause me to develop mental control
and mental alertness all the time. Let Your air and its purity circulate
all over me, in the name of Jesus.
• Perform Your miracle on me as You have done in the past. You are a
miracle working God. Let Your healing power begin to work in me
and make me whole again. Do what only You can do in my life, in
the name of Jesus.
• There is nothing too hard for You, O Lord my God. Grant me the
grace to know that it is done. O Lord my God, preserve me, support,
sustain, direct, guide, encourage, empower, correct, and deliver me
from this sickness. I am expectant, and I will receive healing from
You, in the name of Jesus.

THE MAGNIFICENT 333 PRAYERS 41

• Cause my mind, my thoughts, my heart, and all that are associated
with my mental alertness function righteously. Cause me to see
righteously and not to hallucinate, cause me to hear righteously and
not to hear strange things, deliver me from tiredness, depression,
anxiety, stress, emotional breakdown, and sleeplessness, in the name
of Jesus.
• Grant me the grace to see and visualize right, to hear and hear
right, to think and think right and to smell and smell right. I come
against fear, anxiety, phobia, panic, obsession, mood disorder,
sadness, schizophrenia, delusional disorder, and all that will not let
me function the very way God designed me to live, in the name of
Jesus.
• Grant me the grace not to be confused; cause me to remember things
around me. With God, nothing is impossible. There is nothing too
hard for You to solve, no mountain is too high for You to climb, You
are higher than the highest, do me good, and heal me, O Lord.
• There are many different categories of mental disorder and many
different facets of human behavior and personality that are out of
disorder. Order my brain, and grant me sound mental alertness.
