Prayer Poem by Diptesh Augustine Sarkar

Prayer

Days and nights
Are tied in a lull—
It's time for me to speak.

I keep my eyes
Open wide
Tight sealing the lips.

I utter not a thousand words
Lest you hear me not
The pauper eyes just gape above
Methinks You've heard a lot.

Wow, this is a wonderful poem. I agree so much. If we just listened a bit more during our prayers, opening our minds for thoughts to flow in, the religious world would look so different. (I have worded something in similar in my poem, sacrifice of the ego, privilege to the soul)
