You said the right words
You looked the right way
I looked your direction
I ‘ll never look away
I’m just looking for a way to find my way away from you
If I could only find it
I could lose you
Could I lose you?

Why did I ever let you into my life?
Now, I live all my life tryin’ to let you back out
just when I think “It’s over - I’m free”
you turn on your power over me.

I made promises
You made them, too
We made our lives hell
We both promised “I do”
If I promised you anything I promised you everything
Who wants to leave when it’s good?
I didn’t leave you
When did you leave me?

How did you know I would let you back in?
Why did I let you stay?
We always start out just where we begin
And then it always goes the same way
The same way…

Why did I ever let you into my life?
