Portrait Of A Partner Poem by David Harris

Portrait Of A Partner

Within everyone’s mind we have
the vision of what our perfect
partner should look like.
As we are all different
so are our visions of what perfect is.

If we were to paint a portrait,
how would our vision turn out to be?
Some like slim and petite,
others see someone well-built
and the choices go on and on.

Perfection is impossible to predict
as each of us
are reaching for something different.
With so many attributes to choose from
it is difficult to find which one sparkles more.

To paint the perfect portrait of anyone
is an impossible task.
So our portrait is a combination
of a lot of things
all jumbled into one package.
