Portrait Of A Girl Poem by Raj Arumugam

Portrait Of A Girl

Rating: 5.0

Yes, I too have my desires
my wishes
though you may despise me
mock me and trifle
in my heart live my very own dreams

a good man, a loving man
who will be my loyal spouse
as I will be to him
a rustic shed or house
simple enough for a quiet life
is all I will need

children blessed with health
and who can bring laughter
and joy
and who will be loving
and caring all my life
is all I will want

a quiet life, peaceful
with family
and neighbors
with food and timely festivities
is all I will dream of

Yes, I too have my desires
my wishes
though you may despise me
mock me and trifle
in my heart live my very own dreams
