Portals Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Portals

When we first met
my Soul's Furnace Fired
its flames
licking at your soul
burning
dancing flames
room temperature
heat
deliberate
on-coming
fusion
enveloping
eyes
portals
of the spirit
flinging open
breath intakes
that deep touching
familiars make
without touching
that circling
unable to turn
drawn closer
blending
marking that space
that cathedral
two bodies
make
such that each
willingly
worships
Sacred Fire
when two
Unrecognized Other
recognize
Love's Mate
at side
and smells
like home.

He said:

Give me time
and I will offer back eternity
Give me your eyes
and I will see forever
offer me your mouth
and I will kiss
your back
your throat.
Your Everywhere.

She said:

It doesn't take much
to fly me to the moon
I open my sky
I am willing to fly
take my arm.
