Political Cross-Road Poem by Bartholomew Arkoh Boamah Sarbah

Political Cross-Road

They wait in steadiness
ready to ballot for beast against humans
Criticism is revered above praise
in the rallies to canvass for votes

The victims are among themselves
the antagonist of their craving desires
clinging to seemingly contrasting ideas
Alas, the cupidity for power knows no bound

Nonetheless, amidst the bedlam,
the incessant slander and libel
erupting from ruptured propaganda
and the flaming tongues of assailant

there shall always linger around
the shadowless figures of the candid umpires;
those who shall finally break free of the haze
and annul the barbaric ritual
