POLISH SPIT!

The little things
when laughter rings
in the little things
then nothing matters
it's all good blessings

Our friends we meet
with friendly greet
forget the week
in grind and whine
Inspired to reenergize
Tapping toes, in exercise
The brains to move
the words that groove
in people's mind
like food they dine!

The polish does makes one shines
To share the words and made up lines
Happy Smiles that go around
Way better than to sulk or frown
Have a day so filled with grins
Have a day so full of whims
Have a day to polish spit
Have a day at BBQ pit!

When hunger strikes
No conversations
When food is fed
More talk will flow
And with the drinks
the dam is broken
Camaderie warms
let friendship glows.

The food is eaten
The drinks are drunk
the stomach sated
the hearts have softened
the aching bodies is the most
the aching feet of tired hosts

The rest goes home
to bed to sleep
the friends who stay
and stay to clean
are friends to cherish
Your friends to keep!

Poem of the Day

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
piano;
