Poetry Within Me Poem by Tlou Romeo

Poetry Within Me

They come night time, the voices of the voice less. Poetry with me, like an invisible freedom tattoo on the fist of Madiba. I've heard it all, the confessions of lost souls. I've anchored the words of the great, blank mind, within my eyes they never are invisible. Like a coal smoke suffocating the coldest from fetus's lungs, I cry tears of ink. Poetry with me, its gospel of versatility, the blood of hanni rhymes with that of a born free over love. The words with the anthem, nkosi sikelela, then the grave yards were full of freedom fighters. When the colour of my skin mattered, still I looked onto the man on the cross. Poetry within me, it's a command, we are soldiers armed with literature, attired verbally of all things verbal.
