Poetry At Dawn Poem by Dr John Celes

Poetry At Dawn

Wee hours before sun-rise;
Few minutes after sleep;
The brain has ideas fresh
That can be worked as themes:
When good poetry’s born.

Those are the moments right,
With silent environs,
And eager mind and heart,
That bubbles with thoughts smart –
Perfect word-painting art.

Pre-dawn is golden time,
Before the birds can chirp,
And sun-light beams traverse,
Through foliage, flora:
Poetry gushes fine.

Well written John. I seem to have a couple of common aspects: my origin is Coimbatore and I studied all through at Carmel Garden (1978) . My parents still have a home close to that great school. Will read up your other poems too.

Well written John. We seem to have something's in common: I too am from Coimbatore - born and brought up in that awesome city; studied at Carmel a Garden Matric. School from 1st standard to 6th form. Passed out in 1978. I now live in Bangalore, an in-house lawyer keen to try out poetry.
