Poetry Poem by Shay B. Malden

Poetry

I had a love once
I miss his embrace,
With pen in hand
What a tranquil space.
Words carefully written
To free my mind,
Of all the burdens
He was so kind.
He would simply listen
He would never attack,
He would never allow
That I held things back.
He would only absorb
All that I had to say,
The pain and torment
Of my day to day....
I miss him so
I miss his touch,
I miss the place
I loved so much.
Where I was free
To simply be,
At peace with myself
In harmony.
I hope he comes back
To me one day,
I never thanked him
Nor did I say,
You are my love,
Freedom of expression,
My gift from above
In poetic satisfaction.
