Poetic Justice! Poem by Daniel Bates

Poetic Justice!

What life giveth, can be taken away
Only a strong will can sometimes make stay.
The pleasures you work so hard to acquire,
The good times you have to admire
As all this can easily be removed
With the blinking of an eye.

Life is good, and giving you all
that you desire, then you take your eye off the ball
Washed away through selfs own doing
In an idleness which one keeps accruing
All of this can easily removed
With the blinking of an eye.

So my words come from my own misgiving
Heading myself, knowing is forgiving
But smile my friends. All that was gained can be lost
And all that lost can be regained
With the blinking of an eye.
