Pocahontos Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Pocahontos

Pocahontas

As is a mountain
Rocky and Silent
I sit in front of sixty four
All colors, large with sound
And watch
And tear drops swell from the corners of my eyes
Walt Disney’s
And the arts
Fooling me, divide me
Divided not in two
To many
Like the sands in desert
Like marbles at seabed
Rolling stones
I’m metis
Mestizo, mixed-blood
I can see
I can paint in the wind
All colors
Red to green
I can read
Deep in hollow of the wool
Each string
And the hair
And mohair
In my eyes have arrow
And in look
“Penetrate
Deep in hearts,
In the minds,
History, ”
I cry
My tears paint the maim
Paint in red
With blood
All in all sixty four
Inches of the colors
And the sounds …
