Plunge Poem by Beverley Katherine

Plunge

dropping back
arms as wide as the skin would allow
oh, the trust
and the sound of it -
how loud the water was
as it welcomed then, one by one
but always together.
they pirouetted
(I swear they heard my gasp)
and they plunged into the liquid aquamarine.
so beautiful, it was
vibrant blue
and the sunlight...

always together,
they left one by one
and never looked back
(even as I jumped in myself, stealing some of their beauty)
