Pleased Innocence Poem by Jennifer English

Pleased Innocence

She trys to please
But her actions are misread
She trys to converse
But they just jump down her neck

Tears burn her eyelids
& can't escape the hell
She's trapt all that inside
No emotion will pass her barracade

Life's just not what it used to be
Lies & betrayal haunt this girl
No innocence left anymore
She'll no longer fight for her sanity

The person she believes in is gone
Too many arguments it seems
He's had enough of this pain
She's obviously not worth this battle

She sits in her room
Proped up against the wall
Blood drenches her clothes
No one will miss this damned soul
