There were those few years you were there
to help me through my fears and tears.

There you stood by my side
always had the right words to say
they always reinsured me that everything would eventually be okay

Sadly, the time had come. It was time for me to leave
my idol who stood tall, proud, and determined.
Time for me to explore my options and achieve

With your words of wisdom
I was off to explore the world unknown

The first year went by fast
with the least bit of contact

We separated and went our own ways
with out any official goodbye

Somehow, we reunited over the last year
Nothing is the same
Between your busy schedule and everything I hear
it just makes me fear

Slowly we are beginning to separate
with our outrageous disagreements
and lack of communication
things just seem to slowly disintegrate

It's a tragedy but everything happens for a reason
but promise me one thing?
Promise me this time we will get an official goodbye
