Please Don't Make Me Think

Tell me I'm beautiful,
Share with me that you're blue,
But pretend that you care.
Dismiss lies with a wink,
And blow off what is fair,
But whatever you do,
Please Dear, don't make me think!

Let those sleeping dogs lie,
And your sleeping cats too,
Just cover all insights,
With black octopus' ink,
Really, who needs the fights?
But whatever you do ,
Please Dear, don't make me think!

Reality's too hard,
Soften it with white lies.
We'll soon croak anyway,
Who cares who's in the pink
Or whose turn it's at play.
Doesn't matter who sighs,
Please Dear, don't make me think!

Attention Readers: Recent poems have been singled out by apparent malcontent(s) on PoemHunter's Web Site as being unworthy of your attention by giving them multiple 1.0 votes to lower their rating and to thereby discourage your readership. If you think this poem worthy of your attention, I would appreciate any comments you feel moved to make and attach your name to, though I think it is highly unlikely that the jerk(s) involved will ever be shamed into silence. May the voice of moderation and appreciation for good poetry prevail over that of critics without honor! Thanks!

The opening is like a subtle voice, the words are nice and bold with strict meaning...Whatever lies on my skin it wont be same what stay in heart...because it is like a chest of gold, it may be just a paper box but keep some glory elements inside..loved this_Soul (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Sir Walter Scott

The moon's on the lake, and the mist's on the brae,
And the Clan has a name that is nameless by day;
Then gather, gather, gather Grigalach!
Gather, gather, gather Grigalach!
