Please Come Back (A Fading Love) Poem by Bartholomew Arkoh Boamah Sarbah

Please Come Back (A Fading Love)

In bright darkness
I can feel your receding body
endowed with adorable contour
from your purple shadow

I hear the silent steps
by toes of your creeping feet
as you gradually sneak your way out
that I should be the patron saint

Subtlety now overshadows your unsoiled
Love
Like the moon dims
with the onset of the pregnant clouds
and I beg for it in vain

I no longer see your face
even with my knees in fervent supplication
and tear flooding my somber self
hoping to seek your concern

Please come back
Into my welcoming camp
And place my tag on your segmented neck
To shield away strayed proposals
