Please Be
Please be gentle with my feelings
I’ve been hurt too many times before
Please be gentle with your words
In the past I’ve heard too many lies
Please be gentle with your eyes
In the past I’ve seen too many deceitful looks
Please be warm and gentle with your touch
Cold hands are all I’ve ever felt
If you take my heart handle it with care
Too many times I’ve been left in despair
