Zen Sober

Playtime - Poem by Zen Sober

I got talking to a philosopher
at a café. He told me
he plays football once a week
with a group of lads, mainly

artists. Would I like to
join them? Sure I said,
but you’re having me on,
surely.[the Python

sketch was in my head] No
we are serious players.
Answer this question
correctly and you can play

with us. Can you play ball
without floodlights? Sure
I said, during daylight hours.
Good, he said, you can play.
