Planets Poem by Chris Hudson

Planets

The pale moon pierces the black wall of space
Casting rays of silvery light across the nocturnal sky
Infinite beams of lignht traverse the galaxies and seek an end.

A million stars glitter and wink,
And like an illuminated diamond
That can never be reached
Venus glows coldly
From her high pinnacle in the sky

What cold beauty she has
Untouched, Unfound, Undefinable beauty;
An aura of virgin distinction
Surrrounds her and seems to suggest
That neither man or spirit
Will breach her ancient chastity

As our Earth continues yet another revolution
The light of the new day approaches;
Stars disappear and the moon fades
The warmth of the sun enroaches...
