Pity Me Poem by Bancroft Boreland

Pity Me

Pity me
Whose heart drowns in an ocean of sorrow
In whose future there is no tomorrow
Pity me
Whose dreams are but like sand on the shore
Soon to be washed away
Pity me
A man deprived of freedom
An eternal prisoner in this dark universe

I marvel at the architecture of life
But I am constantly reminded
That death is the price of life
A price none of us are willing to pay
So pity me because I pity you.
