Pieces Poem by Danette Frenz

Pieces

Piece by piece, I’m putting it together.
My heart, shattered, all over the floor.
Time is melding all of the shards,
Like shuffling, one does, when playing cards.
Pass over the pain, fast forward the hurt,
Move over slowly, remember the love.
Never forget the time that we had,
Sands of time shifting, over the land.
Embrace the future, live life whole-souled, too.
I’m finally learning what to glue, new.
