Picture Album Of My Mind Poem by Franklin Spriggs

Picture Album Of My Mind

The picture album of my mind,
Memories of my past,
The pictures and the memories,
Neither one is here to last.

In younger days and happier times,
My picture album quite anew,
But as the years went rolling by,
My album never grew.

Some of the pictures are missing,
Where they have gone, I do not know,
Some of the pages are very cold,
Just like the winters snow.

No more pictures can I take,
To fill the empty page,
Loved ones have gone, and left me here,
No need to get enraged.

I search the pages everyday,
One page at a time,
The only picture that I see,
The only photo there is mine.

For the day will come, when it's time to go,
My picture album to be no more,
Only empty pages of my mind,
Just like it was before.
