Photo Haiku Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Photo Haiku

objects
amazed to find themselves
part of this photo

out of her cigarette
a ship sets sail
birds fly into her eyes

a dog enters
your eyes
emerges other side a cat

a tree
flowering out of your head
your laughter blossoms

posed photo
the statue
more alive than you

statue
puts his hand out
feels the first drops of rain

here in this photo
the heart attack hides among the ordinary
...only seconds away

Time gluing
the ordinary everyday
to the tragic moment

the moment
of this photo forever
objects glued to us
