Phantom Spider Webs Poem by I write because I have to

Phantom Spider Webs

Destinies of spiders -
recluses and widows,
lives weaved like webs free
How did we end up together?
Drops of change rain
in the puddles of puzzles
of pieces of us
that morph and grow up
to reconstruct pictures
of portraits of people
in places like home
with faces our own
like haunted mosaics of memories of us
Four ghosts in a house
of closed doors and open halls
open arms and closed walls
walking through each other...
instead of talking to each other
kindred strangers with the same last name
a bond between ghouls
close enough to be just out of reach
phantom feelings, unable to touch
unable to feel...
only able to feel
like the stiff prey of a spider
in a web of woven lives
like the ones we live apart together.
