As my wife’s hogging (her) computer I cannot send you a message.....
to replace the one I almost sent earlier, before it DID disappear.
Yes! Valsa, I had almost finished my “topic field” reply to YOUR.....
response to MY poem. THIS response is not too harsh; don’t you fear!

Not all things in life are perfect; some will improve, given time.
I don’t like the new “topic field”, but with tweaking it COULD “prove itself”.
Well, not by “itself”; it needs help from its makers and perhaps its users.
Please don’t give up on PoemHunter due to it; don’t hide PH on a shelf.

I think I counted 221 topics offered now on the PH Home Page;
it’s a good beginning, but it’s FAR from adequate for our “needs”.
ONE real puzzle is why “woman” AND “women”, but neither “man” nor “men” are topics.
Perhaps the makers of the list were all male, smoking SOME REALLY strong weeds!

I wonder if I can submit one poem several times, using different topics.
“Silly June Snake” I could submit three times, using 'Funny', 'June', and 'Snake'.
BUT if I submitted “Silly February Snake” what would I do? Not all months are on the list!
Yes, I think PH could have planned the list much better, as THIS one is a MISTAKE.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
ok, i used poetry! how generic is THAT! ! ! PH member Valsa George (and others) are concerned about the new requirement (for submitting poems) aka the 'pain in our collective a+++s'. bri :)

Poem Hunter Imposes Required Field Topic I never investigated the required field options, it was not on my list, never had time never mind, topic is a label a reader should be able; to define theme style to label topic makes me smile, it is a tool for finding themes one likes, but it takes away the pleasant surprise from poems which unknown might suddenly bite; still it might aid readers with limited topic range tolerance, for those who perhaps love romance but can't dance to other tunes, which might loom large with ice berg implications... Hmm... Never knew my question was so pertinent As to desrve a reply so instant Thanks for your magnanimity I appreciate your reciprocity When retired there is much time for research And into the core of things to further search More than ever, I feel you should be honoured With a doctoral degree, you long deserved Not even PH must have thought of such compilation Of topics as conceived in Bri's imagination!

OK. I JUST TRIED TO SUBMIT THIS POEM AGAIN, using discrimination as the topic. PH tells me the poem is already in my poem list, and would not let me submit it again. i bet i could submit it again if i changed one word. but i have wasted enough time on this, so i shall not try that. :) bri
