Ph: Poetry Writing: A Letter To My Muse

(After a poem by Abekah Emmanuel with the same title here on PH)

Now I feel soaked in regret
For my thoughtless neglect,
While in fearful shadows you waited
My return to more poetic realms.

Did I seem deaf to your voice
And blind to your presence?
Oh, but it was not true I swear,
My future's a blank page without you.

Forgive my indiscretion, my lack,
For pen in hand, I wait for your leading.
Fill my heart with your deepest ink,
Let my words be your flowering.

Who desires to escape your smile,
The clear harmonies of your vision?
Would I sacrifice warmth, light, and
Music's charm to simply be alone?

If foolishness is to be my lot,
Let me be foolish in loving you,
Let your truth strike me like an arrow
That finds my heart without fault.

Let me thank you for the citation sir. Indeed, am excited to see that my poem triggered a new poem from your pen. Your version is equally nice, naturally flowing and very poetic in diction, it is true we will not sacrifice anything for the writing of poetry, as long as we live, our pens will not be laid to rest until we give out to the world our best. I hope your muse too will accept your apology and furnish you with more inspiring poems. well written sir!
