Ph: Love: You Kissed Me But Once Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Love: You Kissed Me But Once

True, you kissed me but once
And with tears turned away
From a loss we both needed to grieve,
But the years still embrace
Something found in that space,
A brief glimpse of a garden with Eve.

That day Paradise Lost
But its echoes still ring
For its tongue spoke of living in love,
With a life beyond reason,
One that transcends known season,
And that lives still in heaven above.

Though our blossoming found
Distant gardens as home
Still I breathlessly wait for its song,
Its tune touches my day,
Fragrance softens life’s fray,
With my poetry humming along.
