Ph: Life: Please Call Me Back Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Life: Please Call Me Back

So sorry but I'm out again,
My life's passion, to be a friend,
A daunting task that doesn't end.

Leave a message at the tone,
With luck I won't forget to phone,
And for this slight, to you atone.

Please call me back for heaven's sake,
If your message seems not to take,
I'm not perfect, give me a break!

This is a very great and honest poem as it points out a flaw in society today-making false assumptions and misunderstandings. As most people would assume that you are purposely ignoring them because they'd believe that, after a few hours of no reply, they must be of no interest to you, it could possibly lead to misunderstandings. Yet, you are showing how people might just have no time at all.(You're) not perfect. Hence, this can also be a cheer-up poem, too, for people who've always been ignored. Maybe the people you talk to just don't have time. Seeing this poem's versatile use, I really enjoyed it. Good job! :)

What! ? You are talking about me? ! .......... I wish I could call you, but yes I am rather impatient to wait for several hours for a single reply..... Waiting does give me a blow in my gut, and oft fills my mind with negative thoughts...... I wonder most of the time, If he has read it, then what keeps him silent? .....
