Ph: Faith: Believe Me Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Faith: Believe Me

I’m not saying that I know the whole truth, so help me God,
I’m not saying even that I deserve your special respect,
Although if this poem tells you that you are special to me,
You might want to reflect on just how that could be true.

I am not saying that I really KNOW there’s a God,
I am not saying that I KNOW that I have been chosen,
But in faith, I feel sure we cannot leave His presence,
And I daily experience His tender mercies around me.

I am not saying that my gifts are my own creation
I am not saying my gifts can survive without my love,
But a gift that is rejected can never find its value,
And a nurtured gift honors both creator and gardener.

A rose that’s been found is a rose that’s been chosen,
A rose that’s been chosen shall rise up again,
Created by bees that are pre-destined to serve it,
There is nothing, ever, accidental about a rose.
