Peter Pan Poem by Hopeless Heart

Peter Pan

I want to ride away
And feel the rush of the wind,
I want to dance and play
I want to for get all my sins,

To be a child again
Throw maturity out the window,
Sit and play with Barbie and Ken
Just lose myself in the flow,

Simplicity, which makes no sense at all
Ignorance and innocence is bliss,
Always willing to take that fall
When my lips had never felt a kiss,

Daddy was the only man you’d ever love
Boys were friends and nothing more,
You’d run through puddles after doves
And never wonder what for.

Now that we have grown old
We have new ways of fun,
Our heart and minds grow cold
At the thought of what we’ve done,

Age is like a curse
That no one can escape,
With more time it gets worse
It’s just our fate,

I don’t want to grow old,
I don’t want to grow cold,
I don’t want to have regrets,
That I can’t forget,

I want to be young forever
I want to dance and play,
No matter what the weather
I want to run away.
